Great Summer Reads: The Three Crowns Series

I grew up in Southeast Missouri; home of the Throwed Rolls, high cotton, and the St. Louis Cardinals. I have a little family consisting of son, daughter, son-in-law and a little Pi. Other than my children (and grandchild), my passion is writing. My current project is The Three Crowns Series. Sweet Tea is the first book in this seven-novel series which published October 15, 2013.

Besides reading and writing, I enjoy singing. I love music period. Music is in our family. Whether it be the bluegrass from the Ozarks that my Grandpa Sutton use to play on his banjo or fiddle, or the smooth, family harmony in which I am fortunate enough to sing with my Dad and Brother. But you can give me some kickin' AC/DC too! I like it all!

I work full-time as an Administrative Assistant. Every free moment is dedicated to my family and my current project, The Three Crowns, a seven-novel paranormal romance series.

It all starts with a Queen and a Plan.

The Three Crowns is a New Adult/Paranormal Romance series. There are seven books to complete the series, with a novella. This series has your modern day vampires dealing with the Old World Laws creating a struggle for ultimate power in the Night World.

THE THREE CROWNS SERIES SYNOPSIS

The Three Crowns series is about a normal girl whose life is more than what she will allow herself to imagine. It is the journey of her accepting that everything is not black and white, and our logic of what we understand does not mean something does exist. Throughout the story she is protected, loved, groomed and pushed to her limits to prepare her for what lies ahead of her. She is tested in all areas of her humanity which will someday bring her to know the person she is destined to be. The human nature of love is a tangled web of emotions for she feels the love of two men who are continually being taken away from her for the sake of their positions in the future as well.

“We have to get out now!”
I could feel the intensity of each word being yelled to me from this guy standing over me. I didn’t know him, yet…I did. My heart was pounding. Fire was all around us. Smoke was heavy in the air. Where was I? Throughout the large room, the murk was cut as bodies were thrown through the air, and swords swung faster than my eyes could follow. I heard loud gnashing and growling all around me, and the smell of flesh burning filled my nose. There was only one place I could possibly be. Hell.
I looked down and took notice of my torn and blood-drenched clothes. A panic blanketed me as my thoughts ran rapid. How could this be? Am I going to die? What am I doing in hell?
“We have to go now!” The guy exclaimed, grabbing my arm. His eyes gleamed with a mission. He stood strong and with purpose. He appeared fearless. He looked to be my age. Wait. What is my age right now? Am I seventeen? I feel like…I’ve lived a thousand lives, yet haven’t even begun to live. I took a deep breath, trying to focus on the moment. And if all I had was this moment, then I had to move or be moved (or die more like it!).
I arose to my feet, feeling very weak. I looked down to keep from stumbling, and screamed in horror. A man’s body lay close to my feet. His head lay next to his body. I felt tears starting to burn in my eyes from complete fear that had taken hold of me. As I gasped in shock, I noticed a few more feet away from the first body lay another body crumpled on the floor. Again, his head was next to his body…and another body! Oh God! Please show me the door out of this nightmare! I quickly turned away and tried to run. I didn’t get four feet when I tripped. I gathered myself and tried getting up as quickly as I could. When I looked to see what I had tripped over, I couldn’t help but scream. It was another headless body. But this time it was a woman! As I scrambled up, I looked over to the left of the body, and there was her head about five feet away. My blood ran cold as chills climbed my spine. Fear had found me as though it had been seeking me. I could almost hear the haunting echoes of his laugh ringing in my head as he closed in on taking what little courage remained in my possession. This fear wanted more than just my courage-he wanted my soul. My soul he could not have! A new strength consumed me and I pushed on through the nightmare.
